The fee you pay at the University of Chuka is only determined by how you were admitted to the University. You can be either a government-sponsored student placed through the KUCCPS Portal or a self-sponsored student (SSP) enrolled by direct admission to the university.
The key difference between a KUCCPS student and an SSP student at Chuka University is that government-sponsored students benefit from a subsidized fee structure. In contrast, self-sponsored students undertake the full financial responsibility for their education without government subsidy.
For government-sponsored students at Chuka, we advise you to check your Chuka Student portal for the latest rates. However, for self-sponsored students, the fee you pay ranges from as low as Ksh 9,000 for certificate courses like KISEB and KATC to doctoral programs which are the most expensive programmes charging anywhere from Ksh 99,000 to Ksh 125,750 in the first semester.

Admission process at Chuka
The process of getting admitted to Chuka University is quite easy, but it is heavily influenced by whether you are a government or SSP student. Both categories of students will have to download their admission letters from the university website in order to be officially admitted to the institution.
For KUCCPS students, the only requirement is to make sure that you have been placed at Chuka by the KUCCPS, after which you can get your admission letter by visiting the Chuka Admissions portal at https://admissions.chuka.ac.ke/gsp/login-kuccps and logging in to get your admission letter.
For the self-sponsored students, the admission process is a bit longer, because you first need to know when to apply. Luckily for you, we already stated the application intakes at the beginning of the guide. There are 3 semesters within each academic window with application deadlines as follows:

During the application stage, you will be required to apply the following documents, so make sure to have them ready when needed:

- Scanned National ID – applies to only Kenyan applicants who are above 18 years of age

- Scanned Valid Passport – applies to Non-Kenyan applicants
- Academic certificates – At least 1 Academic Certificate depending on the Programme Category you are applying for
